WORK AND WISDOM

Do you know the difference between a tailor and a fashion designer? The both of them uses sewing machines, they cut the fabric with scissors and have similar sewing techniques but there is a very major different between them.

And that’s the wisdom one adds to its work, a tailor sews to individuals but fashion designers brands their clothes and make it to a large number of person. They use the social media as a marketing tool, get influential folks to wear and model their fashion line and they become more successful than the rest.

While you might argue that the tailor does not have the resources for such, I would humbly disagree, what the tailor doesn’t have is the will and wisdom. Sometimes, a tailor trains a young girl who turns out to be more successful at the field than the “madam”

Point is, you can’t just work, that can’t be enough. If hard work was supposed to be enough then the daily labourers would drive the biggest cars, they would build the fanciest houses and eat the most exquisite meals.

While working is a noble act and God blesses the works of our hands, you still have to pause to think, strategise and arrange. Let your mind do first before your hands. Think five steps ahead before you make a move.

When you have been doing something for such a long time and the effect isn’t showing, you stop and ask yourself questions “what am I doing wrong?” “What else can I do?” “How can I improve on this?”

The answers to these questions will guide you and please, don’t lie to yourself, be truthful about the things you are doing wrong. Your neighbour who sells same products as you is getting more customers, why? Don’t be too quick to blame it on the spiritual effect, take a moment to consider the “self” content.

Let’s face it, it’s not those who work most that are richest and that’s not an encouragement for you not to work. It’s a boast for you to think and plan better.

I like to believe that if you can add the right wisdom to your work then it could yield a better result.

People who think right, live right! You are not a lazy person, you work daily, and sleep so briefly but it doesn’t seem to be shaping out, don’t just break down and tell yourself that the universal hates you.

Meditate with your free time; you are the only one who can recognize completely the aspects of your life that are lacking, the part that are falling behind. Maybe you sell things that are needed in the mornings but you get to your shop at 11am. Maybe your manner of approach is bad or maybe your customer satisfaction is not adequate. I don’t know I’m not there.

You keep making investments and they keep failing, why? Is it the witches in your mother’s village? Or is it the ones in your father’s village? Maybe! but maybe not. Look at the time you are investing, is it the right time? Others are doing it and succeeding but you aren’t, maybe it’s your timing, so check it.

“Wisdom is profitable to direct” you can’t know it all, so ask questions, and ask rightly. “Wen u dey drive and d tin com be like say you dey lost, wetin you go do?” you jejely park your car and ask for directions “if you continue to dey drive you fit com go lost…
