WHY YOU STARTED
Inspiration is fleeting; it comes and goes like wind, you work tirelessly hard, get your hopes up on a triumphing outcome but then it doesn’t quite shape out as you had expected and just like that, your spirit derailed and again inspiration goes out the window emancipating itself from its host.
Life is hard; in utter truth, these words have been said far too often and truly no one understands it in its depth more than the person whose back is now painfully thrust against the wall, eyes empty in despair and its lake of inspiration dried out like a grandma’s bosom.
Wants to move but can’t
What else can be done?
The world is your oyster.
The sky is your starting point.
It can inspire anyone towards greatness
But there you are
Standing face to face with the door to greatness
But you seem to be missing your boarding-pass
Can’t go back now, too much is expected of you
Your contemporaries has once journeyed this very path
Some gained entrance
Some burnt at the gate
You wake up every morning with your memorized mantras
Today is going to be a good day
I am a winner, I shall overcome.
Back against the wall
Your reflection in the mirror now mocks your conviction. There is nothing worse than you giving up on yourself, the world can turn and leave, the society can roll around in laughter, your dearest friend might advise a concession but none of these will matter till you look at the mirror and tell yourself, “maybe they are right” but are they? Do you really believe that or has it been so tough that it throws a veil of fear over your eyes? Maybe it’s time to ask the most pertinent question of it all.
Why did you start this? Why are you on this track? Why did you choose this very route? There must be a reason; the gospel truth is that, for you to succeed there has to lie in you a conviction that is larger than yourself, something that makes it impossible for you to stay in bed, something that makes concession, inacceptable.
Inspiration is all around you but not always subtle or from an appropriate source, a riffraff can say something that gets your mind glowing with life changing ideas, a babbling idiot can babble astonishing sense that will hit you at your core and give you a different perspective to all your troubles, they might not be able to do anything for themselves with all their great insights but you can use them.
Is it getting hard? Then go gulp in a fresh glass of ideas, be open-minded and you will be awed by the new grounds that are yet to be uncovered, they are right, the sky is wide enough for all. And you can do amazing things; you just have to put the right amount of energy to the right idea.
The people who had made it today if being candid will tell you that to climb up that ladder and break through that glass ceiling they had to figuratively break their backs.
Life isn’t meant to be easy, look around you, look at the common examples open to you, if it was meant to be easy, if everyone’s path was meant to be the same, if ones success or failure was meant to be a guarantee for another’s then the structure would have been completely different. There wouldn’t have been an apple in the Garden of Eden at all, Jacob wouldn’t have deceived is twin brother out of his inheritance, Judas wouldn’t have betrayed Jesus with a kiss.
We all pray and hope for circumstances that are within our control, and often time in life this isn’t the case, but then the saying “big man, big wahala” could be reversed to say “big wahala, big man” the tougher your battles are, the bigger your reward also.
No matter the choking pressure, if you have wore on the strong armour then you’re beyond up to the task, you will never be given more than you can handle and the only reason why it seem like this situation exceeds your capabilities is because you haven’t yet been introduced to your full potentials.
Don’t say all you can do is your best when you don’t even know what your best is yet…
